New Launches

After the huge success of the 3008 which was launched at the end of last year, Peugeot have turned their attention to the 5008. The new seven-seater MPV has had a complete overhaul, offering eye-catching SUV looks, bags of space and a quality interior. Will it succeed to beat the likes of the Skoda Kodiaq, Nissan X-Trail and even the Land Rover Discovery Sport when it goes on sale in July?

On the outside, the 5008 takes many of it's design features such as the wide grille and headlights from the 3008. The rear of the car is where you will see many differences. The biggest change is the much longer roofline which accommodates the third row of seats.

The interior has improved greatly compared to it's predecessor. Peugeot have invested in the quality of the materials they have used which gives it a more luxurious feel. In the new model you will get an all-digital instrument display called the i-Cockpit. When set in sat-nav mode, the guidance moves from the central screen to the digital instrument display in front of you.

Safety plays a big part in the new model with automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition and driver attention warning system all coming as standard.

There is much more legroom for rear passengers thanks to the 5008 being165mm longer than the 3008. Access to the third row seats is good even though these seats are only meant for children. The 5008 offers a 1,060 litres of boot space when the third row seats are in place. This can be increased to 2,150 litres when they have been removed and folded down flat.

It is expected that there will be six engines on offer, four turbo-diesels and two petrol turbocharges engines. The 1.6 litre 120bhp diesel will reach 0-60mph in 11.4 seconds with a top speed of 113mph, with an average fuel economy of 67.3mpg.
