Summer is almost upon us. The birds are singing, the sun is (hopefully) shining, children's laughter fills the air…..until it's drowned out by the howl of a V12 as another supercar goes screaming by. Unless you forgot to book your tickets for the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed (23-26 June).

It's a matter of days until the Festival of Speed returns to the parkland of Goodwood House in West Sussex so you'd better hope there are still tickets available.

Regarded as one of the world's greatest celebrations, the Festival of Speed is motorsport's ultimate summer garden party held in the beautiful parkland surrounding Goodwood House. You can wander the grounds admiring the acres of beautifully sculpted metal and then watch the cars and bikes blast up the famous Hillclimb track. You can see everything from F1 cars past and present, to millions of pounds worth of classic cars, as well as the latest batch of mind-blowing supercars.

Don't be surprised to see lots of famous drivers wandering around either. Previous Formula 1 World champions Mika Häkkinen, Jenson Button, Damon Hill and Jackie Stewart will all be there, alongside a few current drivers who manage to squeeze a visit into their schedule. There are plenty of Le Mans winners too, including Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell, perhaps the greatest team-mates in Le Mans history, who have 11 wins between them. Two of this year's event's most eagerly anticipated bits are the Michelin Supercar Paddock and the First Glance Paddock.

The Michelin Supercar Paddock

This returns as the best place to see the newest, the most powerful and the fastest cars. Last year, the 2021 Supercar Paddock saw the premiere of some amazing cars including the Lotus Evija, Koenigsegg Regera, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR, Aston Martin V12 Speedster, and the Mercedes AMG GT R Black Series. Ferrari and Lamborghini also had a number of cars blasting up the Hill, while Bugatti brought the Chiron Pur Sport.

This year, the Supercar Paddock will showcase new cars such as the Radford Type 62-2, Kalmar 7-97, Hispano-Suiza Carmen and the GMA T.50, among many others we're still waiting to hear about. The First Glance Paddock is where you can get up close to some of the most innovative vehicles from across the automotive industry. The 2022 First Glance Paddock will showcase some of the world's newest vehicles, fresh out of the factories, including the Porsche 911 Sport Classic and the Ford Ranger Raptor.

Visitors to the Festival of Speed will also have the opportunity to see all of the cars that are on display in the Supercar Paddock and First Glance Paddock run up the Goodwood Hill across the weekend. But only if they remembered to book their tickets…
