Swedish manufacturer Polestar has announced that its third model will make its official debut in October 2022. The Polestar 3 will be the brand's first SUV.

As Volvo's electric performance arm, the Polestar 3 will share a platform with the next-generation Volvo XC90 where it will share the same production line in the United States.

Featuring all-wheel drive from a dual-motor set-up, the Polestar 3 will offer a driving range of more than 370 miles on a charge.

Performance is not confirmed yet, but considering the brand's sporting intentions, the Polestar 3 is not going to lack power. The Polestar 2 is available with an all-wheel drive system producing 300 kW (402 hp) so this is likely to appear in the specifications of at least one version of the 3.

Set to compete with the likes of the Jaguar I-Pace and Audi e-tron, the performance SUV features sleek styling and is expected to feature a similarly clean and simple interior as the Polestar 2. The infotainment system will definitely be built on an Android operating system however, allowing for greater integration of Google systems.

It will kick off the first of three new cars from Polestar, to be launched each year until 2025. Pricing and specifications will be announced at launch, as well as expected delivery dates for the UK market. Current Polestar leasing offers can be found here.
