New Audi A6 Saloon joins the line-up

There may never be a better time to lease yourself a premium car. Business class travel doesn’t need to be in the air. You can have that same executive experience behind the wheel too. There are a few obvious contenders in the segment, one of the most obvious being Audi. And hot on the heels of the latest A6 Avant, the range is expanding again with an equally new Audi A6 Saloon.

The elegant and updated Audi A6 Saloon raises the bar for design, innovation, aerodynamics and comfort. Advanced new infotainment and driver assistance technologies also push the new A6 back to the top of its class.

The new A6 Saloon typifies contemporary Audi design through its striking front end with sleek headlights, prominently positioned Audi rings and large, low-set grille. As standard in the UK, the A6 Saloon will come with Matrix LED headlights made up of 48 individual LED segments per headlight. The elongated and slightly upward-sloping rear end also conveys the same level of prestige, the two rear lights, continuous light strip, and vertical brake light lending the new A6 Saloon a sense of presence.

Drivers can choose between 10 colours for the A6, including a new colour option called Midnight Green. When it comes to wheels, Audi also offers a wide selection of designs ranging from 18 to 21 inches for the A6 Saloon. Various options for exclusive exterior, interior, and leather trim colours will also enable even more customisation in the new model.



The interior of the new Audi A6 Saloon is equally refined and business-like, prioritising space and comfort. 60mm longer than its predecessor, it offers extra space for both people and luggage whilst simultaneously improving comfort and ride quality.

The interior focus is on Audi’s MMI panoramic display consisting of the Audi virtual cockpit with an 11.9-inch screen and the 14.5-inch MMI touch screen. Range-topping models also feature a 10.9-inch MMI front passenger display that enables the front passenger to access websites, stream video content, as well as navigating or searching for fuel stations. As part of the optional Sound & Vision pack, the new Audi A6 Saloon can also be specified with a new, configurable head-up display.

The new range will initially be available in Sport, S line and Edition 1 specification

At launch in the UK, the new A6 Saloon will be available with two engines – one TFSI petrol and one TDI diesel. The diesel unit features mild hybrid technology (MHEV plus), enhancing performance and refinement, and reducing CO2 emissions.

The entry-level 2.0 TFSI variant features a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine sending around 200bhp to the front wheels. Numerous modifications have improved the efficiency of the newly designed engine, including a start-stop system as standard to reduce fuel consumption. The 2.0 TFSI is fitted with Audi’s dual-clutch, seven-speed Stronic transmission as standard.

The 2.0 TDI delivers a similar 200bhp and a maximum torque of 400Nm. The mild-hybrid technology also adds the benefits of electric-only driving (albeit under limited circumstances), a power boost of around 20bhp for easier overtaking, and an electrically driven air-conditioning compressor that keeps the interior at a comfortable temperature even when the engine is switched off. Like the petrol variant, the 2.0 TDI is also fitted with a dual-clutch transmission, this time coupled with the quattro all-wheel drive system.

The new Audi A6 Saloon goes on sale in the UK this month (May), so if you get your lease order in quickly, yours could be amongst the first customer deliveries in early summer.
