MG Motor UK has brought in a new entry-level model to its popular ZS EV offering: the ZS EV Standard Range.

Now giving leasing customers a choice of two battery options, the MG ZS EV Standard Range has a 51.1 kWh battery, allowing for a driving range of 198 miles on a charge. This compares to the Long Range model's 72.6 kWh pack and 273 mile range.

Essentially an up-rated version of the initial ZS EV model, the battery is still larger than the outgoing, pre-facelifted model, adding 35 miles to first generation ranges.

Despite being the entry-level powertrain, the Standard Range model is still available in SE, Trophy, and Trophy Connect trims, with equipment levels the same across the board, regardless of driving range.

This means that a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment with navigation, digital instrument panel, connected car services, 360-degree parking cameras, air conditioning, keyless entry and start, LED headlights, and 17-inch alloy wheels are included as standard.

Power comes from a 130 kW (176 hp) motor, and drivers can recharge the MG ZS EV Standard Range at up to 100 kW DC on rapid points, for a top up from 10-80% in just over half an hour.

Alongside the previously available Long Range versions, all ZS EV models are available with the £1,500 Plug-in Car Grant , and Standard Range models have an OTR price of £27,495 - Gateway2Lease monthly leasing rates are yet to be confirmed.
