The All-New Alfa Romeo Stelvio

 Published 24th January 2017
New Launches

The Stelvio will be Alfa Romeo's first SUV and is expected to go on sale later this year. The new model was revealed back in November at the Los Angeles Motor Show and is said to be based on their new saloon, the Giulia. Rivals will include the BMW X3, Porsche Macan, Jaguar F-Pace and Audi Q5. Alfa Romeo are investing heavily in their fleet and by 2020 is certain to have at least six more cars in their line up. We think the Stelvio could become one of Alfa's biggest sellers, read on to learn more.

The Stelvio adopts many of the external design features that can be found on the Giulia model such as the same face and rear design. It measures at 4,680mm in length, 2,160mm in width and 1,650mm in height, making it similar in length to the Porsche Macan. However, it will be notably wider. The aluminium chassis creates a lighter body, making it much more fun to drive.

Inside, the cabin quality is bold, providing a more upmarket feel. We see a combination of carbon fibre and wood to the dash, as well as an 8.8 inch infotainment system which has been integrated into the center dashboard.

Sitting at the top of the range will be the Stelvio Quadrifoglio, which will feature a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine with an impressive brake horse power of 503. There will be two 2.2-litre engines also available, offering 148bhp and 178bhp as well as a 2.0-litre 197bhp turbo engine.

We can't wait to see the Stelvio on the road, order books are expected to open mid-2017.
