New Launches

If you’ve been paying attention, you may recall we told you about the new MINI Countryman a couple of months ago. The largest MINI in the line-up has been updated with new design features and new technology to make it even more appealing.

That’s not all. To go with all that new stuff, you can now add a massive chunk of power if you decide to lease yourself the new MINI John Cooper Words Countryman.

The MINI John Cooper Works models have always been known for their exhilarating performance. Now the ever-practical Countryman has had the same treatment to add power to the space and comfort.

Essentially, the car is the same as any of the other Countryman models so don’t expect too many differences to be immediately noticeable. You still get the stylish, upright, and MINImalist profile to go with the practicality that makes the MINI Countryman such an effective all-rounder. You also get the same technology-packed interior too.

The new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman does feature a few model-specific details to enhance the bold and sporty look though.

The front end features a new octagonal grille in high-gloss black, aerodynamic elements with vertical reflectors on the front of the car emphasise its wide stance, and the new LED headlights with horizontal bars in JCW Signature Mode give it a more expressive look.

The newly designed C-pillar joins seamlessly with the contrasting roof in motorsport-inspired Chili Red and the high-contrast exterior design, combined with the Legend Grey body colour, emphasises the sporty look of the model. The upright John Cooper Works Signature Mode tail lights also help to underline the increased width too.

The John Cooper Works logo has also been redesigned

This gives the car a modern look, with the  new logo featuring on the Countryman in the classic black, red, and white colour scheme. There are also bright red brake callipers to differentiate it from a regular MINI Countryman as well.

The interior has also had a few Cooper tweaks too, with the red and black colour scheme of the dashboard, door panels, and sports seats offering a nod to MINI's racing heritage.

But we know what you’ve really been waiting for, and that’s to find out what’s under the bonnet.

This is a John Cooper Works MINI and that means it has quite a lot to live up. Well, don’t worry, because it does.

The MINI JCW Countryman features the same all-wheel drive system – although with slightly fatter tyres - as other models in the range so grip and traction are going to be excellent on pretty much every type of terrain. Where it differs is that this particular MINI is also fitted with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine connected to the ALL4 all-wheel drive system.

For the technical-minded amongst you, the engine features optimised pistons, connecting rods and engine mounts to extract maximum power from the 2.0-litre engine. An advanced, dual-drive turbocharger boosts the engine power, and together with the dethrottled air intake enables the John Cooper Works Countryman to generate beefy performance and an even more dynamic driving experience.

For the less technically-minded, the above basically means you get a sizeable 300bhp to play with, a 0-60mph time of just over 5 seconds, and a top speed of 155mph. That should be more than enough to make for an exhilarating driving experience.

If you’re looking to lease something practical, stylish, comfortable, and fun, you may as well tick all of those boxes at once with the new MINI John Cooper Works Countryman.
