All-new Renault Clio has arrived

New Launches

A more assertive and elegant exterior. A sporty new front end. New LED signature lighting. New technology and materials inside and out. There are a million reasons why more than 1.1 million have sold in the UK alone over the years, and the brand-new Renault Clio is adding a few more reasons as to why it's a great choice for your next car lease.

France's best-selling car has undergone a total reinvention for the modern world and represents the next step in Renault's “New Wave” design programme. The new Clio captures Renault's aim to build more modern, more distinctive, and more sustainable cars.

While it's no bigger than the outgoing model, the new lines and curves bring a modern vibe to a car that's now entering its sixth generation since it first launched in 1990. The new front end features an enlarged grille, brushed-satin logo, and those new LED headlights we've mentioned. Techno and Esprit Alpine trims also boast an aerofoil beneath the new grille inspired by Renault's decades of experience in motorsport. The rear end also sees new light clusters, redesigned bumper and side vents, and a lower diffuser.

The overall exterior look is finished in a choice of seven body colours and three distinctive 16-inch or 17-inch alloy wheel designs.

The spacious and comfortable interior has also been redesigned to incorporate new technology and sustainable materials.

The new dashboard features an edgeless display with either a 7-inch or 9.3-inch touchscreen depending on the trim level. Automatic air conditioning, a hands-free key card and wireless smartphone charger join other available amenities such as a height-adjustable front passenger seat, heated steering wheel, automatic electronic parking brake and central armrest with built-in storage.

Even the seats have been upgraded to a sportier and more supportive design finished in a range of recycled materials with contrast stitching to complete the look.

Your new Renault Clio engine choice

To make it go, the new Renault Clio is equipped with a choice of two efficient powertrain options - a three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine in the TCe 90, and an electrified option, the E-Tech full hybrid 145.

The three-cylinder turbocharged TCe 90 delivers, as the name suggests, 90bhp and is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. This combination offers fuel economy of up to 54.3mpg and CO2 emissions from 118g/km.

If you want more fun for less fuel you should be opting for the hybrid version though. Its two electric motors work alongside a four-cylinder, 1.6-litre 95hp petrol engine to develop a suitably responsive 145bhp. At low speeds, the new Clio can run on electricity alone which pushes the fuel economy up to a healthy 67mpg and reduces emissions to around 96g/km. Neither will be blisteringly quick – 0-60mph times are around 12 and 9 seconds respectively – but it should still feel as nippy and agile as a Renault Clio should.

UK specification cars are offered in three generously equipped trim levels – Evolution, Techno, and the range-topping Esprit Alpine.

Features shared across the range include:

  • alloy wheels,
  • electrically-folding and heated door mirrors,
  • hands-free key card,
  • automatic air conditioning,
  • full LED headlights and rear lights,
  • EasyLink touchscreen with built-in navigation and smartphone integration,
  • one-touch electric front windows and
  • an ECO mode function that optimises environmentally-friendly driving.

Entry-level Evolution models also feature the 7-inch touchscreen display, 16-inch alloys, and rear parking sensors. Upgrading to the mid-range Techno adds a reversing camera, larger 17-inch wheels, front and rear parking sensors, shark fin antenna, wireless phone charger, and adjustable ambient lighting. If you opt for the top-of-the-range Esprit Alpine you'll also get heated front seats and steering wheel, the larger touchscreen display, adaptive cruise control, and extra safety features such as blind spot warning and cross traffic alert.

The brand-new Renault Clio is just the next step on Renault's New Wave design journey, and there are a whole lot of reasons why it will likely lead to a new wave of drivers opting for the fun little Clio. The updated Renault Clio is available to order right now so there's no point in waiting to lease a new Clio lease a new Clio for yourself.
