Stand out in a brand-new Alfa Romeo Tonale

General Guides  New Launches

No matter where you live, if you look outside the chances are there are a few SUVs in sight. If you want a spacious, comfortable, and practical means of getting around they are hard to beat. It's also hard to stand out from the crowd, which is why you need to lease yourself an Alfa Romeo Tonale.

It ticks the stylish and well-equipped SUV box and it's an Alfa Romeo. What more could you possibly want?

The brand-new Alfa Romeo Tonale is already available to order and from launch you'll be able to choose from two trim levels in six colours. If you move quickly enough you might even be able to get your hands on the Edizione Speciale, a limited-time launch edition with a few little added extras.

No matter which trim level you choose you're going to get a lot of equipment and comfort included in the price. The Tonale is Alfa's most technologically advanced model to date so it's packed with all the extras you'd expect from a premium SUV.

Standard equipment across the range includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen with DAB radio, Bluetooth, navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, together with a six-speaker sound system and wireless charging pad. The state-of-the-art infotainment system also allows for over-the-air updates and can be integrated with Amazon Alexa.

Dual zone air conditioning, automatic headlamps with dusk sensor and automatic high-beam, auto wipers with rain sensor, auto-dimming rear-view mirror and electric folding and heated exterior mirrors are also fitted as standard. Convenience comes in the shape of keyless go, a powered tailgate, and front and rear parking sensors with backup camera. There's also an optional leather pack that adds heated seats and a few other touches of luxury.

Intelligent adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking (AEB), speed assist, and traffic sign recognition bring enhanced safety as standard to the Tonale range. They also tie in with the option of a level 2 autonomous driving pack that should make lengthier journeys a lot more relaxing.

The Alfa Romeo Tonale will be available in two distinctive trims

From launch there will be two trims - Ti and Veloce. Although, much like the choice of colour, the differences between the two are largely aesthetic.

The Ti version can be identified by Alfa's iconic satin chrome V front bezel and the 18-inch alloy wheels with coloured Alfa Romeo centre wheel caps. The exterior also features a gloss-black body kit, with satin side and front inserts, and black painted mirror caps. On the inside you'll find sporty black cloth upholstery and a sport leather steering wheel with start button.

The Veloce swaps the chrome V bezel for a dark miron finish and adds 19-inch alloy wheels, this time featuring monochrome Alfa Romeo centre wheel caps and red painted Brembo brake callipers. You also get matt finish side and front inserts to replace the satin ones found on Ti versions, gloss black window surrounds, privacy glass, and model specific Veloce badging and body kit. Inside, the Veloce adds aluminium pedals and door sills, aluminium gearshift paddles, and a black and red Alcantara upholstery finish. Veloce versions also benefit from Alfa's Dual Stage Valve suspension for an even more compliant ride.

If you are fortunate enough to lay your hands on the Edizione Speciale you'll basically be getting all the bits of the Veloce trim – except it comes with larger 20 inch alloys and a dark miron Speciale badge to complement the V bezel – and all for less money than the price of a Ti variant.

When it comes to the Tonale the only choice you don't get is what's under the bonnet. That's because it's powered by Alfa's first electrified powertrain so it's already as sporty and economical as it needs to be.

The new Alfa Romeo Tonale is a petrol hybrid so it gets the best of both worlds. The economical 1.5-litre petrol engine is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and also features a brand-new 48-volt electric motor which is capable of powering the wheels even when the internal combustion engine is off, offering an authentic hybrid driving experience. With 160bhp on tap the Tonale doesn't offer the mind-warping performance of some of Alfa's range but it's more than enough to make driving enjoyable without hammering the emissions or fuel consumption.

All that's left for you to do is give us a call and tell us what colour you'd like to lease one in.
