General Guides

At this time of year it feels like motor shows are a bit like buses - you wait all winter for one to come along and then two arrive at the same time.

Well, maybe not exactly the same time but you get the idea. The Geneva Motor Show isn't that far behind us and we're already gearing up for the Commercial Vehicle Show 2018.

Tens of thousands of visitors will be descending on the NEC Birmingham between the 24-26th April to see the latest offerings from a wide range of vehicle and equipment manufacturers in the commercial sector.

From truck, van and trailer manufacturers through to fork lift trucks, insurers, tyre, telematics and training providers, fuels and lubricants suppliers and a whole lot more.

If you operate a commercial vehicle, whether it's a single van or a whole fleet of vans, this is the show that brings you up to date with the latest developments. You can get up close and personal with the latest vans, pickups, and the companies that produce them.

So what exactly can you expect to see at this year's CV Show?

Exhibitors

Alongside the trucks and buses on display there's also a wide range of vans and pickups from all the major manufacturers. There's an emphasis on electric vans at this year's show with offerings including the Ford Transit Custom Plug-in Hybrid, the LDV EV80, the new 40kWh Nissan e-NV200, and the Renault Master ZE large electric van.

If electricity isn't a viable option for you there is still plenty to choose from. Ford, Fiat, and Volkswagen will be showing a range of vans to suit almost every use. Toyota have chosen the CV Show to introduce a commercial version of the Land Cruiser to the UK as well as a new top-spec Hilux pickup. It's also your first chance to see the all-new SsangYong Musso pickup truck.

If you already have the van you can also browse a wide range of accessories to help your business maintain efficiency with bespoke racking and storage systems, vehicle monitoring, and security systems. Or you can take advantage of having some of the leading insurers, training providers, and trade organisations in one place and pick their brains on any subject you like - within reason of course.

Innovation Hub

Following its successful debut last year the Innovation Hub will return with a series of talks and feedback sessions. This is the place to go to learn about the future of autonomous vehicles, air quality issues, electric vehicles, smart trucks, and much more. If your business is looking for the smallest competitive advantage this is where you will find out what's coming down the line in the next 12 months or so.

COOL Zone

This is where you will find the latest in refrigerated transport solutions, as the name suggests. Showcased in the COOL zone will be a huge range of refrigerated vehicles and bodywork, fridge and freezer units, monitoring and control systems, and pretty much anything else that you can think of. If your business utilises cold chain supplies of any kind, from fresh food to fresh flowers and everything in between, then this is where to go for the latest solutions.

Workshop Zone

This is where you can learn about the latest ways to ensure your vehicles are kept running at maximum efficiency. The Workshop zone will showcase everything from OEM components and replacement parts to maintenance management systems, garage, workshop and bodyshop equipment. If you run a commercial vehicle you'll know the best place for it to be is on the road. This is how you keep it there.

Entry to the Commercial Vehicle Show 2018 is totally free, all you need to do to receive your tickets is register via the CV Show website.
