Published 30th May 2025
So, you’re thinking about leasing yourself an SUV. Or maybe you’re thinking about leasing a high-performance sports car. You could even be dreaming of a stylish and elegant long-distance tourer. But if you’ve got any sense – and a suitable bank balance – you'd be rolling all of those into one spectacular package and leasing the new flagship Aston Martin DBX S.
With an engine benefiting directly from the forthcoming Valhalla supercar, the new Aston Martin DBX S offers more power, reduced weight and more assertive design.
No one who sees the new DBX S will be left in any doubt they’re looking at a sporty, dynamically capable, and ultra-luxury SUV. And that’s before you even notice the badge. From the front, the new Aston Martin DBX S boasts a pure black vaned grille, giving it immediate road presence. A new splitter and diffuser further enhance the car’s assertive presence.
The most obvious visual changes to the new flagship DBX are at the rear though. The quad exhausts are now vertically stacked and available in both gloss and matt finishes, the rear bumper and diffuser have been completely reprofiled, and the DBX S also showcases a new lower livery design available in 3 colours; Rosso Corsa Red, Trophy Silver and Podium Green. The sporting livery highlights the front splitter, diffuser, side sills, and the new stacked quad exhausts.
The interior of Aston’s new DBX S is trimmed as standard in lightweight sporting Alcantara on the seats, headlining, centre console, lower instrument panels and upper trim. Red seatbelts can also be specified to bring additional ‘S’ identification inside the car. The ‘S’ suffix is also embroidered onto the seats, and the Aston Martin wings feature on the headrests.
And underneath the stylish body of the new DBX S beats a V8 heart.
Specifically, an upgraded version of the Aston Martin 4.0-Litre Twin-Turbo V8 powertrain which uses turbo technology transferred directly from the upcoming Valhalla supercar to add an extra 20bhp to the mix. That brings the total power to just under 720bhp, the result of which is a 0-62mph time of just 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 193mp.
Power is shared between the front and rear wheels through an innovative 9-speed ‘wet clutch’ transmission, and the modified exhaust makes the most of the V8 soundtrack.
In addition to the power upgrade, measures have also been taken to significantly reduce the weight of the new DBX S.
The optional carbon fibre roof saves 18kg of mass and does so from the very highest point of the car to lower the centre of gravity to improve both stability and agility. Magnesium wheels are also now available as an option for the first time on any car in the SUV segment, the 23-inch options on the DBX S saving a further 19kg. Suspension enhancements introduced last year have also improved ride quality and overall stability.
The new DBX S continues a long tradition of Aston Martin’s ‘S’ suffix to denote a special, high-performance version of an existing model. It proves that lighter variants with more power and performance are still very much part of the brand’s identity.
And they're already available to order so if you arrange your lease now, the new Aston Martin DBX S could be part of your identity just in time for Christmas.
