Updated Omoda 5 and all-electric E5 revealed
Published 5th September 2025
Well, that didn’t take long. In an industry that usually works on a four-five year cycle, we’re all used to manufacturers making a few tweaks or adding new features to their models every couple of years to keep them fresh and relevant. Clearly, that’s not sufficiently up to date for Omoda though. Despite being on the market for less than a year, the award-winning Omoda 5 and E5 SUVs have already received their first updates.
After a successful launch period in which more than 11,000 Omoda 5 and E5s have already taken to UK roads, make the decision to lease one now and you’ll get the benefit of several new interior and exterior upgrades, alongside a new entry-level trim option.
Mechanically, both the new Omoda 5 and all-electric E5 have been upgraded to improve the overall driving experience. The front suspension has been tweaked, and a new electric power steering setup has been introduced to sharpen the handling. Even the wheel hubs and bearings have been upgraded, along with improvements to the brakes.
For the petrol version Omoda 5 there are a host of technological improvements, higher-quality materials, and a trim-level update.

New 12.25-inch dual screens curve towards the driver for a better view of all the vital information, there’s a revised steering wheel and gear selector, the wireless charger has been relocated for easier access, and a six-way adjustable driver’s seat is now standard equipment across the range too. The interior has also been refreshed to bring it in line with the more contemporary feel of the EV version.
The previous model’s 1.6-litre TDGI engine has been retained but now offers around 150bhp across all versions while reducing emissions to 170 g/km.
Alongside the suspension and steering changes, further improvements to the all-electric Omoda E5 have also taken place beneath the skin.
Larger battery for Omoda 5 EV
A new 61 kWh battery has been introduced, increasing the range to around 267 miles. Charging capability has also been enhanced, with charging rates up to 130 kW making it even more convenient to top-up the battery on longer journeys. A new heat pump has also been fitted to the range-topping variant to further improve efficiency and optimise driving range.
There are two Omoda 5 trim levels available, the new entry-level Knight and existing Noble specification.

Both benefit from major improvements in design and technology compared to the outgoing model, the new specifications remaining competitive and extensive across the range. Additions to the Noble range include roof rails and 19-inch alloy wheels as standard.
And if you are thinking of leasing yourself a new Omoda 5 or E5, you don’t even have to wait. The updated models are available to order right now.
