The new BMW iX3 - plug in for a 500 mile range
Published 13th October 2025
If you want to jump on the new definition of BMW and enjoy 500 miles on the ride, then the new BMW iX3 is the car for you.
It’s the first BMW to arrive based on the company’s ‘Neue Klasse’ platform and heralds a new generation of BMW models that plan to redefine the brand for the electric era. In total 40 new models and model updates will be based on the Neue Klasse between now and 2027.
In the case of the iX3 there’s the 500 mile range - pretty handy for most business journeys - and fast charging up to 400kW when you do run out of electrons thanks to its 800 volt architecture.
But the emphasis is also on sustainability, too, particularly around the interior.
The standard interior features Econeer seat fabrics made from recycled materials finished in a light Vivid Grey, with other sustainable surfaces reinforcing the leather-free approach.
BMW says around a third of the vehicle is made from secondary sources. These include marine plastics, secondary aluminium and PET textiles. As a result, BMW says the product carbon footprint of the new BMW iX3 50 xDrive over its life cycle is reduced by more than 30 per cent compared with its predecessor.
Also inside you’ll notice the all new Panoramic iDrive. This digital display wraps around the bottom of the windscreen so the driver’s eyes are kept on the road ahead rather than having to glance away at a central console. Outside the new BMW iX3 offers a new design language with upright kidney grilles at the front and plenty of glass area.
There will be three models coming to the UK initially:
- BMW iX3
- BMW iX3 M Sport, and
- BMW iX3 M Sport Pro.
Each version offers a comprehensive range of standard equipment. Key standard features include 20-inch alloy wheels, under-bonnet storage, an electrically operated charging flap, heated front seats with electric adjustment, Driving Assistant Plus with automatic cruise control, and charging capabilities of 400 kW DC / 11kW AC.
First deliveries are expected in March 2026. Gateway2Lease already has the first leasing rentals available for the new BMW iX3 Neue Klasse, which you can see via the link.
