Coming soon: New Range Rover Electric & Range Rover Sport Electric
Published 18th August 2026
Range Rover is preparing to launch its first fully electric models, with both the Range Rover Electric and Range Rover Sport Electric now moving through late-stage preview events ahead of order books opening later in 2026. Official details remain deliberately limited, but the early showcases give a clear sense of how the brand plans to translate its luxury and capability into the electric era.
It’s unlikely to come as much of a surprise to anyone, but adding emissions-free motoring to the already significant attraction of a Range Rover is probably going to translate into a hugely popular leasing option for anyone considering a premium SUV.
The focus so far has been on confirming that the move to electric won’t change the core Range Rover experience. Instead, the refinement, capability and performance the brand is known for will simply be delivered through a fully electric powertrain.
More information, including full specifications and order-book timings, is expected later in 2026. In the meantime, here’s a brief summary of what we do know.
Range Rover Electric
The forthcoming Range Rover Electric has been previewed throughout the summer at a series of curated, invitation-only events — from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show to Wimbledon — giving guests an early look at the model’s refined character.
It remains unmistakably a Range Rover in silhouette, with subtle EV-specific cues such as a flush grille and unique wheel centre caps. Inside, the focus is on serenity and craftsmanship, with the emphasis on smooth, effortless power delivery and uncompromised capability.
Range Rover says the electric model will offer the same elevated sense of refinement as its combustion-powered siblings, with zero tailpipe emissions and a cabin designed around calmness and precision.
Range Rover Sport Electric
The second EV in the line-up, the new Range Rover Sport Electric, has also been previewed, most notably at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Early prototypes tackled a series of dynamic challenges inspired by the model’s historic feats, signalling that the electric version will lean heavily into performance and driver engagement.
Range Rover describes the Sport Electric as “more dynamic and faster than ever”, with increased power and torque, advanced chassis tuning and a distinctive electric-specific sound profile. The muscular form remains familiar, but the fully electric powertrain promises a more visceral, immediate driving feel across any terrain.
The new all-electric version will complete the Range Rover Sport’s powertrain line-up alongside plug-in hybrid, mild-hybrid and petrol/diesel options.
