Renault has showcased four new LCV models at the Solutrans 2021 light and heavy commercial vehicle show in Lyon, with electrification a key theme across the display.

And they are heading our way.

The Kangoo E-Tech electric van boasts a significantly improved driving range over the current model. Set to offer a battery range of more than 180 miles on a charge, the new Kangoo E-Tech gets a larger 45 kWh battery and more powerful 90 kW motor.

Renault has also added the option of DC charging, offering a CCS socket to allow for rapid charging at up to 80 kW. This can add more than 100 miles of range in half an hour. Set to replace the Kangoo Z.E. range, which is a European best-seller with more than 70,000 customers, the Kangoo E-Tech is due in spring next year.

Continuing the electric theme, Renault's Master E-Tech large electric van was on show, upgraded with a larger 52 kWh battery for a longer range. Now capable of driving up to 121 miles on a charge, the Master E-Tech Electric will go on sale in spring 2022.

Renault has electrified the Master chassis in another way, presenting an H2-Tech prototype at Solutrans 2021. The hydrogen fuel cell model has a range of 155 miles on a tank, with the only emission from the tailpipe being water. As such, the model would easily qualify for any urban driving zones that allow for electric vehicles.

Finally, the new Trafic was on the Renault stand, with the latest generation of the popular model featuring extensive revisions to the styling and cabin. A new range of engines is also available with four power options available from diesel units. Deliveries of the new Trafic are expected before the end of 2021.
