New Launches

We all like a good deal. There's something eminently satisfying about getting a big slice of something for less money than you might expect. In car terms, one of the best ways to lease a whole lot of car without breaking the bank is to get yourself behind the wheel of the newly updated Hyundai i20.

Since its introduction in 2009, the i20 has consistently delivered style, value and specification, and the latest models are set to continue that trend.

Refreshed styling, the latest safety features, and best-in-class connectivity combined into one of the most comprehensive packages in its class isn't something you want to ignore. We told you about the updated i20 not too long ago updated i20 not too long ago, and now Hyundai has revealed the pricing and specification of the new models, there's even more to entice you into the driver's seat.

The new Hyundai i20 features a refreshed design including a sporty new front bumper and radiator grille, LED headlights as standard, a unique Z-shaped tail light design, and newly designed 16-inch and 17-inch wheels. The new i20 also offers a simplified powertrain line up, with all models available with the turbocharged, three-cylinder, 100bhp engine and a choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch transmission.

The Hyundai i20 range now starts with the 1.0 T-GDi in Advance trim and is available with either the six-speed manual or 7-speed automatic gearbox.

The entry-level Advance.

This features redesigned 16 inch alloy wheels, LED head and tail lamps, whilst interior equipment includes an 8 inch touchscreen display audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets a 10.25 inch instrument cluster with customisable functions, front USB-C charging port, manual air conditioning, cruise control, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear lever, front and rear parking sensors with rear view camera and electrically adjustable and heated wing mirrors. Hyundai's SmartSense safety package is also included as standard. That's an awful lot of equipment for a car that barely breaks the £20k price bracket.

Next in the new i20 range is the Premium trim level.

This builds on the Advance trim, with enhanced exterior details including 17 inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, power folding door mirrors and privacy glass. The mid-range specification also includes automatic wipers, automatically dimming rear view mirror, automatic air conditioning with climate control, multi-colour ambient lighting, heated front seats, heated steering wheel and front arm rest.

You also get a larger 10.25 inch touchscreen with navigation and over-the-air map updates as well as Hyundai's Bluelink telematics system, an app that enables you to access remote central locking activation, location information so you can remember where you parked, and a diagnostic tool that will notify you of any maintenance issues that require attention.

The i20 Ultimate 1.0 T-GDi tops the range and is also available with either the manual or automatic transmission.

Additional equipment in the Ultimate trim includes Smart Key with keyless entry and engine start/stop button, a wireless charging pad for compatible devices, and extra safety features offering Blind-spot Collision Warning and Forward Collision Assist with cyclist detection. The new Hyundai i20 Ultimate also adds the Bose Premium Sound System featuring eight high performance speakers including a subwoofer. The upgraded audio system is equipped with dynamic speed compensation technology, which monitors vehicle speed and automatically adjusts music levels so you don't have to fiddle with the volume control while you're driving.

As well as the refreshed design, the new Hyundai i20 is also available with a wider choice of colour options regardless of trim level. Nine exterior colours and an optional black two-tone roof are yours to choose from, with three of those colours - Lucid Lime Metallic, Lumen Grey Pearl, and Meta Blue Pearl – being brand-new. A new Lucid Lime interior colour package is also available with the seats finished in a new pattern with a bold vertical line, embossed horizontal dotted lines and lime-coloured stitching.

Whichever trim level you decide on you're guaranteed to get a huge amount of specification for your money, which makes leasing the new Hyundai i20 what we in the business call a very good choice.
