Brand-new Xpeng P7+ makes its UK debut
Published 1st September 2025
There's a niggling little feeling that we may be approaching a tipping point regarding EVs. Not so much in how many are being sold, but in the sheer number of new brands and models making their way to the UK.
Globally, manufacturers have largely been ahead of the game, electrifying their offerings long before any government targets come into effect. The resulting situation is one in which new cars, like the Xpeng P7+ recently on show at Goodwood, might be the catalyst pushing the EV market to the next level.
Not that we’re putting all that pressure on Xpeng specifically. It’s just an observation and the brand-new P7+ just happened to be the example at hand.
It is a good example though. The Chinese automotive industry in particular has been focusing on EVs for a while, and it’s learned a lot from its European partnerships. The result is a growing list of new EVs going on sale in the UK across a wide range of segments and budgets.
Xpeng’s showcase at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed not only provided the UK debut of the P7+, but it also showed off the all-wheel drive G6 alongside a demonstration of the next generation of smart technologies including Xpeng’s AI-powered robotic assistant, Iron.

By all accounts, it all went down very well with the long line of impressed visitors too.
As well as taking on the iconic Festival of Speed Hillclimb for the very first time, the all-electric P7+ also impressed whilst not moving. Powerful and agile enough to tackle the hill climb without embarrassing itself, Xpeng has also ensured it boasts desirably sleek looks, comfort, and the latest technology in a driver-focused car.
Visitors were also given a sneak peek at the newly revealed all-wheel-drive Xpeng G6 too. The coupe/SUV crossover look is never a bad place to start, and in combination with the G6’s cutting-edge battery architecture, it’s designed to offer a blend of performance and practicality with the latest technological innovation. And according to Xpeng, all at a highly competitive price point.
“The energy around Xpeng at Goodwood was powerful,” said William Brown, Managing Director, Xpeng UK. “From the Hillclimb to the paddock, it was clear that British car fans are excited about what Xpeng represents: smarter electric mobility, designed around the driver. The dynamic debut of P7+ and our G6 showcase are just the beginning - we’re proud to be building real momentum here in the UK.”
And Xpeng is just one example. With the exception of one or two of the most remotely located of you, there really isn’t anything stopping anyone choosing an EV anymore. So click here for the latest Xpeng leasing deals.
