Renault's revised Trafic panel van has been launched, with a number of changes to the cabin, styling, safety equipment, and engine line-up boosting appeal.

The popular LCV - which has sold more than 2.2 million units across 50 countries since its launch in 1980 - has seen a host of new features added to the refresh, which brings styling in line with the recently revised Traffic Passenger MPV. New LED headlights and grille make up the bulk of the changes.

Inside, the new model benefits from an 8-inch touchscreen system with smartphone connectivity, and Renault has added wireless phone charging, three USB ports, and a 4.2-inch colour instrument panel to certain versions.

New styling details, revised door panels, wider armrests, and a new gear stick look to make small improvements across the board. Practical benefits include a desk-top that folds down from the middle-seat backrest, with enough space for a laptop, plus a 54 litre cubby hole under the passenger seat.

Load space varies from 5.8 cu m to 8.9 cu m, depending on model specified, with two heights and two lengths available to choose from. With a hatch in the bulkhead, the longest load that can be carried is up to 4.15 metres long.

The engine line-up has been improved over the outgoing model, with a choice of four Blue dCi diesel units to pick from - at 110hp, 130hp, 150hp, and 170hp iterations. All are available with a manual gearbox, while the two higher output models can be specified with a dual-clutch EDC automatic transmission.

The new Renault Trafic is available to lease now with first deliveries expected to start from December 2021. The Renault Pro+ five year/100,000 mile warranty features across the board.
