Become Invincible with the new Toyota Hilux

If you want to play tough, you have to be invincible. So step forward the latest Toyota Hilux and its Invincible X model that sits at the top of the range.

The Hilux is already immensely capable - right? But that hasn't stopped Toyota's engineers making it better. More capable. And that little bit meaner.

For starters there's a new top of the range engine. A 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine provides 201bhp and keeps the Hilux on the segment pace, while delivering a whopping 500Nm of torque. It can accelerate the Hilux from 0 to 62mph in 10 seconds – that's an astonishing 3.2 seconds faster than the current 2.4-litre unit. You can choose to shift the gears manually or let the drivetrain sort out such niceties for you.

This new turbodiesel engine will satisfy those customers that want a rough, tough Hilux for business use as well as personal use as an extremely capable leisure vehicle. At least you should be able to go anywhere - all Hilux models feature all-wheel drive for great grip and traction.

To ensure the Hilux performs for both business and personal driving duties, Toyota's engineers have focused on improving the on-road comfort of the Hilux with improvements to the suspension and the power steering, without sacrificing any of the pickup's legendary off-road capabilities.

This latest version of the Hilux will be available in Single Cab, Extra Cab and Double Cab versions. And, of course, Invincible X.

Exterior design details give this top of the range pickup real road presence with a bespoke grille and front bumper, skid plate, plus special door handle and tailgate designs.

The new Hilux will go on sale in November including the Invincible X beast. We can't wait.
