Nissan presents electrified line-up for Europe
Nissan has confirmed six new electrified models due to arrive this summer, boosting its position as a market leader in EVs and hybrids.
As part of the announcements, Nissan has also revealed that it will not introduce any new non-electrified internal combustion engined models in Europe from 2023.
With these plans, the Japanese firm expects that 75% or its sales in the region will be electrified by 2026, and 100% by the end of the decade.
This year, Nissan will have the pure-electric Leaf hatchback and forthcoming Ariya SUV, as well as the Townstar compact MPV.
Other electrified models include the Juke Hybrid, which features a conventional hybrid system using both engine and supporting electric motor.
There will also be the new Qashqai e-Power and X-Trail e-Power, which use Nissan's range-extender hybrid system. The Qashqai and X-Trail models are driven entirely by an electric motor, which sees its battery charged by a compact engine.

We have harnessed our disruptive nature and our electric expertise to deliver a suite of electrified powertrain technologies that meet the needs of our customers, with zero compromise on excitement.”
