Porsche Macan T broadens your horizons

If you know your Porsche history you might recognise the T designation. It's from previous 911s. The T stands for Touring, and since the 1960s it has been used to identify models that offer an especially authentic driving experience thanks to precise tuning, exclusive equipment, and efficient engines.

For the first time ever, it's now attached to the back of a four-door car in the shape of the Porsche Macan T.

The new variant sits between the existing Macan and Macan S models. The Porsche Macan T features a lightweight, 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, Porsche's distinctive design, and a range of standard equipment that is ideal for a sporty driving style.

Unique design details on the Macan T differentiate it from the rest of the range.

The exclusive Agate Grey Metallic contrast colour features on the front trim, exterior mirrors, side blades, roof spoiler and logos on the rear. Sports tailpipes and side window trims in high gloss black are standard, and the side blades also feature the 'Macan T' logo in Black. Twenty-inch Macan S wheels, exclusively in dark titanium, also come as standard, and you have a choice of 13 plain, metallic, and special colours for the exterior finish.

The interior of the Macan T has its own distinct feel too. The eight-way electrically adjustable heated sports seats feature exclusive upholstery based featuring Sport-Tex Stripe pattern while the front headrests each have an embossed Porsche crest. The Agate Grey contrasting colour from the exterior is carried through to the silver stitching on the seats, headrests, and steering wheel.

Standard equipment includes a multifunction GT heated sports steering wheel and the Sport Chrono stopwatch in the upper part of the dashboard. The new centre console with its glass-look and touch-sensitive surface, as well as the fully networked Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with a 10.9-inch touch screen and online navigation are also included.

But this is a Porsche and it's what's underneath that has to live up to your expectations.

The 2.0-litre turbocharged engine of the Macan T combines low weight and a compact design to create a package that offers an ideal balance of agility and performance. Compared with the 2.9-litre biturbo V6 engine in the Macan S, the powertrain in the Macan T weighs 58.8 kg less. This gives it excellent performance off the line and optimum cornering ability thanks to the reduced weight over the front axle.

The Macan T has an output of around 265bhp and is coupled with a fast-switching seven-speed dual clutch transmission (PDK) and the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system. That gives the Macan T the ability to accelerate from 0 to 60mph in 6 seconds and reach a top speed of 144mph.

For a little extra magic, the Macan T is the only Porsche model to feature steel suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) as standard, combined with the body being lowered by 15 mm. Adding adaptive air suspension with PASM and lowering the body by a further 10 mm is also an option. The Porsche Traction Management (PTM) has also been adapted to the demands of the Macan T and has been specially designed with a rear-wheel bias which, combined with more rigid anti-roll bars and the tuned chassis has resulted in highly responsive steering and agile handling.

The new Porsche Macan T is available to order now. Deliveries to German customers are due to commence in April, so now is the time to give us a call and arrange your Porsche lease so we can make sure your name is as high up the list as possible.
