If you're considering leasing an EV you might be pleasantly surprised to find there's a much wider choice than many people think. It's not just the choice that can be a surprise either. Tucked away among the less obvious EV choices are some fantastic cars like the newly updated Skoda Enyaq iV.

The Skoda Enyaq iV is based on Volkswagen's MEB running platform which is specifically designed for EVs. Designed from the ground up to deliver a completely new driving experience, this electric SUV delivers space, technology, and great value.

And despite the fact it's only been around for a year or so and was already a great choice, Skoda has decided the Enyaq iV deserves even more. Updated software makes even more of the infotainment system, enhanced battery management maximises the range, and new option packs follow on from the styling tweaks it received earlier this year.

Lease yourself a new Skoda Enyaq iV and you can reap the benefits

The latest improvements include an upgrade to the navigation system and head-up display along with visual improvements to the heating and ventilation infotainment screens to make the user experience even smoother. It also allows for the ability for future updates to the car's operating software to be made over the air (OTA) so you'll always be up to date without having to lift a finger.

In addition, the new software includes Remote Access for three years as a standard feature on all Enyaq iV models, having previously been an option. Remote Access is available through the Skoda Connect app and will now enable the customer to view their Parking Position and vehicle status with their smartphone. This is an addition to the current app features which includes remote charging, climate control and departure planner.

The software update also delivers improvements to the Enyaq iV's high voltage battery management systems. The changes don't add any extra juice to the battery but they do reduce electrical losses. That means more of the power is available for driving around so you get a bit more range.

On top of the improvements, under the skin there are also a new range of option packs to personalise your new car.

Skoda is simplifying the option packages to four levels of specification: Clever, Plus, Advanced and Maxx, with each of the top three packs building on the one lower in the range. You can also fine-tune your specification with a range of single options on the Enyaq iV.

The Clever Pack is available on both the Enyaq iV 60 and 80 models and adds a whole load of technology. It includes keyless entry, wireless charging, privacy glass, heated front seats and tri-zone climate control for improved comfort. You'll also get adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and blind spot detection.

The Plus pack builds the specification further with the addition of electric hands-free tailgate opening, full LED Matrix headlights, and electrically adjustable memory seat for the driver. Improved driving assistance brings emergency assist, lane assist, narrow lane assist, and evasive steering support.

If you opt for the Sportline Plus variant you'll get all of the above as standard anyway. If you want more you'll need the Advanced or Maxx packages which are only available on Sportline and iV 80 models.

The Advanced pack adds a head-up display for improved safety, heated front and rear seats as well as a heated windscreen, and an upgraded sound system. The range-topping Maxx package also adds electric seats to the front passenger side and a massage function for the driver, the full range of parking aids to make life easier, and dynamic chassis control to further smooth out the handling and stability under any conditions.

If that's not enough you can still dip into Skoda's single options to add a panoramic sunroof, tow bar, and heat pump. It's also worth specifying Skoda's iV universal home charger to massively reduce charging times and take advantage of cheaper electricity deals.

And the best part? All of those changes and upgrades have already been introduced so if you're thinking of leasing the Skoda Enyaq iV you'll get all of the benefits immediately.
