Latest Advisory Fuel Rates from 01 March 2026

For drivers of electric cars, there’s been a change to the Public Charging rate in the latest Advisory Electricity Rate (AER) which can be used from 01 March 2026 with a useful increase of 1p.
The new AER rate forms part of HMRC’s latest Advisory Fuel Rates (AFRs) for the quarter starting 01 March 2026. However, the latest Advisory Fuel Rates for petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicles remain unchanged from last quarter.

The Advisory Fuel and Electric Rates are only for use by company car drivers for claiming business mileage or where all fuel is provided, to repay private mileage to avoid punitive Fuel Tax.
