Škoda Epiq targets affordable electric city SUV leasing with big-boot practicality

Published 16th March 2026

Škoda’s upcoming Epiq is being marketed as the brand’s most affordable all-electric model and, for leasing customers, that’s a big deal. It’s perfectly positioned in the sweet spot where the practicality of a small SUV meets the affordability of monthly payments. The Epiq is designed to attract more people to EVs beyond the early adopters by offering electric running costs and clean-air-zone compatibility in a size and price range that’s usually dominated by petrol crossovers like the Kamiq.

Škoda’s main message is that the Epiq’s pricing in many markets will be similar to the combustion-engine Kamiq. This sets a realistic entry point for personal and company users who are budget-conscious but still want a new car with modern tech and warranty coverage. In addition to being affordable, Škoda is highlighting the Epiq’s everyday practicality, boasting a 475-litre boot. That’s impressive for its compact size and will appeal to drivers moving up from a supermini or downsizing from a larger SUV.

On the tech side, the Epiq is described as an all-electric city SUV crossover that showcases Škoda’s Modern Solid design direction and uses Volkswagen Group’s entry-level EV hardware. So far, Škoda has mentioned a range of up to 430 km (267 miles) and fast charging capabilities of up to 133 kW. The powertrain options are easy to understand, the lower-powered versions come with a smaller battery, while the top-tier model features a larger battery and higher output. This makes it easier for leasing customers to choose based on their budget, mileage needs, and usage patterns, without getting bogged down in complicated configurations.

For company car and salary sacrifice takers, the Epiq’s potential is definitely there. If Škoda delivers on its affordability goals while meeting the promised practicality and charging performance, it could become a popular EV choice for urban drivers, small businesses, and fleets looking to go electric without paying the higher monthly rentals that come with larger SUVs.
