Kia to debut new electric van at the CV Show

Kia to debut new electric van at the CV Show

Published 16th April 2025

If you’ve not been to the Commercial Vehicle Show (CV Show) before, then now is as good a time as ever to do it.

Because a car maker is turning van maker.

The CV Show takes place between 29 April to 01 May 2025 at the NEC, Birmingham, and it’s free to go - all you have to do is register.

And if you do decide to attend, then look out for Kia. Yes, we know they’re good at electric cars such as the Kia EV3 and SUVs like the Sportage, but this time the company is turning its expertise to vans.

Debuting at the CV Show on stand 5C95 will be the all-new Kia PV5. ThePV5 is Kia’s first fully electric van and Kia will be delivering an insight into its commercial vehicle business plans at the stand.

According to Kia, the mid-size PV5 establishes a new benchmark for electric vans thanks to a combination of attributes never seen before in the UK market.

These include the PV5 electric-only van being built on a dedicated EV platform and designed for work across a variety of operational situations, including delivery, utilities and ride hailing.

The PV5 will be available in three styles; a panel van, a chassis cab and a passenger variant. Kia says the chassis cab will offer scope for a variety of customer needs and customisations.

While we don’t know details such as the range of the new van, we do know that it comes with Kia’s seven-year/100,000-mile warranty as standard - the same as for its cars. Fleets will also be able to benefit from Kia’s partnership with Geotab and the vehicle’s on-board technology.

The PV5 is the first of a range of new vans from Kia, which the company says will be launched in a phased and progressive manner.

Mike Costain, Event Director for the Commercial Vehicle Show, told us why it would be a good idea for you to attend the Show:

“We are absolutely delighted that Kia has chosen The Commercial Vehicle Show to debut their highly anticipated electric van. This event remains the premier platform for manufacturers to showcase cutting-edge innovations, and Kia’s presence highlights the growing momentum of electrification in the commercial vehicle sector. We look forward to seeing how their new launch is received by the industry and how it contributes to the future of sustainable transport.”
