The Lexus Climate Concierge goes further than conventional multi-zone air conditioning systems by using an array of infra-red sensors that constantly monitor the surface body temperature of occupants of different seats. Heating and ventilation sources are then finely adjusted to ensure that optimum warmth or cooling is always provided.

The system not only works with the heating and ventilation system, but it can also control operation of the heated steering wheel and integrated seat heating and ventilation alongside the cabin air vents to deliver a prompt response. Efficiency is built-in with a clever system that detects if a seat is unoccupied and adjusts the air flow and temperature accordingly. It’s also intelligent enough to consider external factors such as sunlight through the windows.

The Climate Concierge system also features the integrated radiant heating system that warms the legs of the driver and front passenger that first appeared in the Lexus RZ.

The best part about the Climate Concierge though, especially on those very hot or very cold days, is that you don’t even have to wait until you get into the car to operate it. Using the Lexus App, the Climate Concierge can be activated remotely so the car is suitably warmed or cooled before you even open the door.

And in today’s Lexus models, air quality is also monitored and maintained, using trillions of water molecules that are fed into the ventilation air flow to help counter bad odours, as well as inhibit viruses, bacteria, allergens and the spread of mould.
