All-electric Jaecoo E5 pricing and specification confirmed
Published 25th September 2025
Leasing an EV is becoming an increasingly viable option for more people all the time. Not only is the number of models growing to fill all kinds of market segments, but the growth of the technology itself is also starting to drive prices down to the level of the “average” driver. Take the new Jaecoo E5 SUV for example.
This compact all-electric SUV offers stylish design, a comfortable and well-equipped interior, a healthy dose of power, and enough range for most of us to not have to worry about charging very often. And it delivers all of it with a sub-£30k price tag.
The Jaecoo E5 is the brand’s first all-electric model for the UK market, offering pure‑electric motoring in a more compact, urban‑friendly SUV.
With its bold silhouette and rugged stance, the E5 introduces the same clean, aerodynamic styling we’ve come to expect from modern EVs.
Designed to be easy to manoeuvre in town without compromising on stability and handling at speed, the result is a compact electric SUV that balances style, efficiency and everyday versatility. Despite its compact exterior, the new E5 makes excellent use of space, with a five‑seat layout, more than 35 handy interior storage spaces and a 480‑litre boot that expands to 1,180-litres with the rear seats folded.
Inside, the Jaecoo E5 combines technology and practicality with a premium feel that belies the price tag. The cockpit is built around the 13.2-inch high-definition portrait touchscreen. Standard equipment includes wireless smartphone connectivity, a 540‑degree panoramic camera system, and app-based remote controls. A suite of 19 ADAS driver assistance systems also feature, including Level 2 autonomous driving, adaptive cruise control, and collision mitigation systems.

The E5 is offered in two trim levels – Pure and Luxury
Each of the trim levels is highly equipped as standard. Pure specification includes six-speaker Sony audio system, six-way manually adjustable front seats and Level 2 ADAS features. Luxury specification adds a panoramic sunroof, wireless mobile phone charging, heated and ventilated electrically adjustable front seats, multi-coloured ambient lighting, and an eight-speaker audio upgrade.
The technology isn’t just restricted to the interior either. The all-electric powertrain also incorporates many of the latest developments that make driving an EV such a simple and stress-free option.
Underneath, the Jaecoo E5 takes its power from a 61.1 kWh Lithium‑Iron Phosphate battery pack. In combination with the 200bhp electric motor, that equates to a 0-62mph time of just under 8 seconds and a range in the region of 250 miles between charges. It even has a V2L facility to allow you to power everything from camping equipment to laptops straight from the car’s battery pack.
Charging the car itself is also a very easy process.
An 80 kW DC fast charger can top the battery from 30 to 80% in around 27 minutes, and the standard 11 kW AC charger makes overnight charging at home effortless. The reported 248-mile range should be more than sufficient to ensure you can complete all but the longest journeys without running low on electrons, and if you do need to stop for a top-up, it’ll be done in the time it takes for a leisurely stroll to the toilet and to grab a coffee on your way back to the car.
With first UK deliveries expected to begin sometime in October, if you fancy switching to an EV lease you may as well order a lease on the new Jaecoo E5 right now to ensure your spot at the top of the list.
