Latest Advisory Fuel Rates from 01 June 2026
Published 27th May 2026
New Advisory Fuel Rates for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, with a rise in the pence per mile, reflect the ongoing conflict in Iran and the upwards pressure it is placing on fuel prices.
The new AFR rates feature rises from 2p per mile up to 5p per mile for the largest diesel engine capacity. There have been no changes to the Advisory Electric Rate (AER), including the recently introduced public charging rate.

The Advisory Fuel and Electric Rates are only for use by company car drivers for claiming business mileage. Alternatively, where all fuel is provided by the business, the AFRs can be used to reimburse private mileage to avoid expensive Fuel Tax.
For hybrid cars, drivers should use the appropriate petrol or diesel rate.
