Plug-in hybrid version for Audi A6 Saloon and Avant
Published 5th June 2025
Company car drivers who want a bit of executive style, then it’s time for a mini fist-pump: the oh-so-elegant new Audi A6 has a plug-in hybrid version now available.
The new e-hybrid versions of the Audi A6 have a battery that is capable of providing a zero emission only range of 64 miles (saloon) and 63 miles for the estate.
However, we still don’t have any word on the CO2 emissions, so cannot definitely say which company car tax band the e-hybrids will be in.
What we do know is that maximum AC charging power is 11 kW, and if the battery is completely empty, says Audi, a full recharge to 100 percent can take as little as 2.5 hours.
There are two operating modes available: “EV” and “hybrid.”
In EV mode, the plug-in hybrid models run solely on electric power, while in hybrid mode, the hybrid management system maintains a specific charge level as needed in order to save enough electrical energy for later use. In addition to the automatic hybrid mode, the desired charge level can be individually selected using a digital slider.
While there might only be two operating modes, there is all-wheel steering and quattro four-wheel drive as standard on all models.
The all-wheel steering system should make city traffic a breeze. The rear wheels can turn by up to five degrees in the opposite direction to the front wheels at speeds of up to 37mph. At higher speeds the rear wheels turn in the same direction, offering precise handling and a high level of comfort.
And the four-wheel drive quattro drive train provides confidence inspiring grip at all times.
Power comes from a 2.0-litre TFSi engine with 299PS power available and the 0 to 62mph dash completed in 6.0 seconds.
There will be three trim levels: Sport, S line and Edition 1 with prices starting from £60,980. Orders begin in June - when you can find out the lease prices of the new Audi A6 Saloon e-hybrid and Audi A6 Avant e-hybrid - with first deliveries slated for September.
