New BMW X3 offers PHEV option for 8% BIK

The new BMW X3 has gone on sale, offering a wealth of powertrains and options to suit any driver.

Deliveries for the new X3 start at the end of the year and will feature a bold updated exterior with the iconic double kidney grille framed by eye-catching LED headlights.

Inside, the X3 showcases the latest BMW iDrive system with BMW Operating System 9, updated digital controls with fewer sub menus, new seats, and sustainable materials.

To maximise flexibility, boot capacity is 570 litres, expandable to 1,700 litres with the rear seats folded (a PHEV variant offers 460-1,600 litres).

There is improved standard specification across the range, including three-zone automatic climate control, acoustic glazing, automatic tailgate, electric folding exterior mirrors, and BMW Maps navigation.

Ambient lighting offers a welcome and goodbye animation, with other features including wireless phone charging, Bluetooth, four USB-C ports, and 12V power sockets in the centre console and luggage compartment.



Safety and convenience functions include active systems checking for front collision risks, lane departure and speed limits. A standard parking assistant offers reversing guidance and a rear camera.

Drivers can choose from nine colours, including eight metallic shades.

A portfolio of powertrains includes petrol, diesel and a plug-in hybrid. The BMW X3 30e xDrive PHEV can cover 50-56 miles in electric-only mode, putting it in the 8% band for company car tax.

The range-topping BMW X3 M50 xDrive features the most powerful six-cylinder in-line petrol engine yet fitted in an M Performance model, with a maximum output of 398hp.

This is the fourth generation BMW X3 since its launch 20 years ago. It was the brand’s best-selling model worldwide in 2023.
