Brand-new Kia K4 heads in a brand-new direction

Brand-new Kia K4 heads in a brand-new direction

Published 21st October 2025

Don’t ask us because we don’t really know either. Depending on who you ask, it’s either a hatchback or an estate...but at the end of the day, does it really matter? Whether it’s a small family hatchback or a medium sized family estate isn’t really the point. What’s more pertinent is that the new Kia K4 could offer a lot of people a lot of things, and it looks rather good whilst doing so.

Kia is blurring the line between the C- and D-segment with the new K4, a car designed to meet the demands of modern drivers, offering plenty of interior space, premium features, and advanced technologies.

The new Kia K4 - which replaces the Ceed in the lineup - introduces an expressive new look that translates into lots of interior space for both passengers and luggage.

The design stands out for its distinctive floating roofline which flows elegantly into the rear hatch. Other features include the Star Map Signature Lighting inspired by the EV9, rear hidden door handles integrated into the C-pillar, and an exclusive Sparkling Yellow exterior colour. The K4 GT-Line looks even better, sitting on 17-inch or 18-inch alloy wheels, with gloss black mirror caps, side sills, and wheel arch mouldings.

It's also got the equipment list to go with the looks.

The K4’s interior boasts a panoramic display consisting of a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 5.3-inch climate display, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment screen. You can relax in heated and ventilated seats while you listen to your choice of music streaming service from the Harman Kardon premium audio system, run over-the-air updates, open a Wi-Fi hotspot, or let the AI assistant control various features with just a word...as long as you say “Hey, Kia” first.

The new K4 also continues Kia’s commitment to offering a diverse range of powertrain options. Of the five engine configurations that Kia will be offering, two will make use of added electricity.

Kia will launch the K4 range with an entry-level 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol engine coupled to a six-speed manual transmission. You will also be able to specify the same engine in a mild-hybrid version which can be paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission instead of the manual.

For those who like a bit more power, there is a 1.6-litre T-GDi petrol engine which will be available in two variants, offering either 150bhp or 180bhp and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The K4’s powertrain lineup will be completed with a full hybrid option that’s likely to sit at the top of the model range, although Kia has already confirmed that you won’t be available to order one of those until later next year.

With its bold looks, spacious flexibility, high-tech features, and performance-focused variants, the K4 has taken the familiar hatchback and evolved it into something a little bit different.

The brand-new Kia K4 is scheduled to start hitting the showrooms in the next few months, we don’t imagine it will take long to confirm how eager you are to lease this new Kia.
