Global reveal of the new Omoda 4
Published 28th November 2025
Launching a car that is intended to usher in a new era for the brand is a big deal. And if you’re also launching that new car without actually revealing many details, an unveiling ceremony held in a Chinese industrial complex and featuring sci-fi characters, mixologists, and even a body-art booth might be a usefully dramatic distraction. It certainly seems to have worked for the unveiling of the Omoda 4.
While we may have to wait for the full specification and price tag, Omoda UK has confirmed that this new B-Segment crossover will be available to lease in 2026 as part of the brand’s expanding range of both conventionally fuelled and electrified models.
The reason the new Omoda 4 is so important to the brand is because it’s specifically aimed at younger drivers. According to the Chinese carmaker, it’s a future-focused look at what the younger generation needs from their car. Reflecting the cutting-edge design that appeals to their mindset, the new Omoda 4’s target audience is described as “a new generation of lifestyle adventurers who dare to break norms.”.

Omoda 4 design inspired by sci-fi comics
Designed to offer a sense of safety, security and space, at the same time as being inspired by robots and sci-fi comics, the Omoda 4 features a “Cyber Mecha” design philosophy, a mix of angular lines, metallic finishes, and a lightning bolt-shaped light design. That’s not a bad start for a brand looking to attract a more contemporary demographic. Taking a trendy SUV crossover and giving it a very Lamborghini-esque front end is unlikely to prove much of a mistake either, especially if it ends up sitting on massive alloys and boasting an enormous roof spoiler.
Inside, the five-seater compact crossover body hides a sci-fi and e-sports-themed interior.
The large central display - which uses a 2.5K Snapdragon processor like a gaming screen – and the instrument screen in front of the driver appear sleek and stylish, surrounded by premium-looking materials. The spaceship-inspired centre console features diamond-shaped buttons and an engine start concealed beneath a red, pilot-style cage, and space for what looks like a pair of wireless charging pads under the screen.
Full details of the new Omoda 4’s range of powertrain options and trim levels are set to be revealed later in 2026, which probably means it will arrive in time for September’s new registrations, which would also avoid clashing with the UK launch of the larger Omoda 7 due in the first quarter of next year.
That’s going to make 2026 a busy year for Omoda.
For a brand that first appeared in the UK as recently as August 2024 claiming a bold vision for the market, its growing lineup of competitively priced and stylish models with high-tech features, and the now highly anticipated launch of the new Omoda 4 suggests that vision is starting to become reality.
