New year, new lineup: Hyundai updates i20 and Bayon range

New year, new lineup: Hyundai updates i20 and Bayon range

Published 8th January 2026

If we’re going to be strict about these things, then technically, the new Hyundai model ranges were updated in the middle of December. Given that most of us had a different type of shopping in mind at that point, the decision to lease a new car isn’t really your traditional Christmas purchase. But now the festive season is over, it’s time to tell you about Hyundai’s new lineup for both the i20 and Bayon model ranges.

Both the i20 and Bayon have been on the receiving end of trim updates that feature powertrain improvements, styling tweaks, and enhancements to comfort and convenience designed to make leasing a Hyundai your first thought.

updated Hyundai i20 2026

Hyundai i20 updates

The i20’s new lineup now consists of the entry-level ‘Element’, ‘Black Line’, and range-topping ‘Tech Line’ trim options. Regardless of trim, the updated i20 is fitted with a revised 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The range kicks off with the new ‘Element’ trim, providing a practical cabin with a black dashboard and black upholstery, a 4.2-inch configurable driver display, leather steering wheel and gear knob, and 10.25-inch touchscreen with a front USB-C charging port. Standard equipment also includes manual air-conditioning, cruise control with speed limiter, rear parking sensors, and rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines.

‘Black Line’ variants build on the base trim with further enhancements to styling and comfort. Additional features include 16-inch black alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, LED headlights and taillights, privacy glass, heated front seats, and heated steering wheel.

Range-topping ‘Tech Line’ models go even further, adding 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic air-conditioning, wireless phone charging, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors with power-folding function, front parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, interior ambient lighting, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, centre console armrest, rear USB charging port, windscreen auto-defog function, and keyless entry with engine start/stop button. ‘Tech Line’ models can also be specified with Hyundai’s optional Tech Pack which adds a Bose premium sound system and sunroof.

updated Hyundai Bayon 2026

Hyundai Bayon updates

The revised specification for the Hyundai Bayon introduces a new two trim strategy and the same updated 1.0-litre T-GDi powertrain. The new structure combines key features from previous trims into two well-specified models, with ‘Black Line’ replacing the ‘Advance’ trim, and the new ‘Tech Line’ trim also topping the updated Bayon range.

Both trims feature LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, and roof rails as standard. Interior equipment across the range also includes a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster and 10.25 inch touchscreen satellite navigation, along with multi-colour ambient lighting and LED interior lighting. There is also a comprehensive driver-assistance suite that includes automatic headlights, cruise control with speed limiter, rear parking sensors, and rear-view camera with dynamic guidelines.

Across both new trims, power comes from the revised 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual clutch transmission.

‘Black Line’ models introduce distinctive exterior styling including 16-inch black alloy wheels, black door mirrors, and privacy glass. Inside, it offers a black dashboard, headlining, and upholstery, and it also adds new comfort features such as heated front seats and heated steering wheel.

The ‘Tech Line’ trim delivers additional comfort, convenience and refinement. Standard equipment includes 17-inch silver alloy wheels, keyless entry with engine start/stop button, wireless phone charging, automatic air-conditioning, automatic wipers with rain sensor, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, front parking sensors, and windscreen auto-defog function.

Just as in the new i20 ‘Tech Line’, the range-topping Bayon can also be specified from a wider choice of interior finishes, including black dashboard with black upholstery, black and grey dashboard with black upholstery, or black dashboard and upholstery with Vibrant Blue detailing. You can also opt for the ‘Tech Pack’ to add the Bose sound system, windscreen acoustic film, and an electric tilt & slide glass sunroof.
