Confused by new car names? Here’s our quick guide to the latest Chinese car brands entering the UK
Published 2nd October 2025
A new generation of Chinese manufacturers is preparing to enter the UK car market. Following the lead of BYD, MG and Jaecoo and Omoda, several other Chinese car makers are launching new brands which will be available to lease immediately or as soon as product arrives in the UK.
But all these new car names can become a little confusing. So here’s a quick guide to who’s coming, what they’re bringing, and when to expect them.

Chery
Chery is already live in the UK, launching two SUV models, the Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8. Both are available with petrol and plug-in hybrid drivetrains, backed by a seven-year warranty and supported by an expanding 25-site dealer network. The brand is targeting 100 UK dealers by 2026 and expanding its range of vehicles.

Changan / Deepal
Changan has entered the UK under its Deepal sub-brand. The first model, the all-electric Deepal S07 SUV, launched at around £39,990, with a smaller Deepal S05 expected to follow in early 2026. Deepal combines Changan’s Chinese scale with European-influenced R&D, aiming to offer practical EVs with smart design and accessible pricing. Its main focus is on the fleet market to begin with.

Geely
Geely is already well known as the parent company behind Volvo, Polestar and Lotus, but is preparing to launch vehicles under its own name in the UK. First up is the Geely EX5, a family-sized SUV model. Fleet customers, anticipated to be a key segment by Geely, were introduced to ‘production intent’ versions of the EX5 at the Company Car in Action event held on 11 and 12 June at Millbrook Proving Ground.

Denza
Denza is a joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz, focused on the premium market. It is expected to launch in the UK ahead of BYD’s ultra-luxury Yangwang brand, with a three-model line-up confirmed for Europe. The first Denza models will target rivals from Audi and Mercedes, offering a blend of performance and technology at competitive price points. Denza showed its seven-seat DENZA D9, a car which it calls the ‘ultimate all-electric people carrier’.

GAC
GAC has signed a UK distribution agreement with Jameel Motors and plans to enter the market under the Aion brand. Launch models include the Aion V SUV and Aion UT hatchback, both fully electric, with first deliveries expected in early 2026. GAC’s move adds further depth to the growing list of EV-only entrants in the UK.

Yangwang
Yangwang is BYD’s high-performance luxury arm, set to arrive in the UK in 2027. The brand has already made headlines in China with hyper-SUVs and sports EVs offering extreme performance and premium pricing. While still a few years away, Yangwang is expected to target brands like Ferrari, Lotus and Porsche with its launch models.
With a mix of family cars, premium EVs and high-tech hybrids, the next wave of Chinese manufacturers is aiming to cover every part of the market. Expect more announcements, and more competition, in the months ahead. And, of course, stay up to date with all our latest car leasing offers on these new Chinese brands coming to the UK.
