New Kia Sportage to join updated lineup
Published 10th July 2025
If you’re unsure what to lease next, there’s nothing wrong with making your life easier and following the crowd - just for once. When that path leads to one of the UK’s most popular choices of both brand and model it’s a bonus, and doubly so when you can get a brand-new version boasting a fresh design and the latest technology. The fact that it’s a new Kia Sportage also adds a fantastic value for money incentive too.
The latest generation of its best-selling vehicle, the new Kia Sportage delivers levels of versatility, convenience and comfort that set new standards in the compact SUV segment. The new Sportage also offers both petrol and hybrid (HEV) options from launch.
Kia’s latest design philosophy gives the Sportage a striking new look, mixing smooth curves with rugged edges and a powerful new stance.
New front and rear bumpers feature eye-catching LED Star Map lighting and Kia’s distinctive tiger nose grille, and newly designed wheels are available in 17-inch, 18-inch, and 19-inch sizes, with exclusive 18-inch and 19-inch versions for ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ models. The new Sportage also sits on a shortened wheelbase more suited to European roads making it more agile and responsive without impacting overall comfort.
The updated interior offers ample room for everyone to enjoy the sleek and refined cabin.
The steering wheel features a new two-spoke design, the seats are finished with new upholstery materials, with ‘GT-Line’ and ‘GT-Line S’ variants offering a stylish black and white interior in artificial leather and suede. The new Sportage also boasts loads of rear legroom for passengers in the second row, a spacious boot that effectively triples in size with the rear seats folded, and HEV models feature a dual-level boot floor for increased flexibility. Alongside the updated styling, the interior of the new Kia Sportage has also been enhanced with the latest technology.
It features Kia’s Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (CCnC), with dual 12.3-inch curved panoramic displays and a new 10-inch head-up display placing all the car’s functions, including driver assistance systems, infotainment and turn-by-turn directions within easy access.
A multi-mode audio/climate touchpad is located beneath the multimedia screen for changing the preferred temperature setting or adjusting the volume. There’s a wireless charging pad located inside the upper tray, and a 360-degree Surround View Monitor with 3D view provides a bird’s-eye view that makes parking a delightfully simple task.

The new Kia Sportage also offers more dynamic driving
Thanks to a choice of powertrain options, there’s a 1.6-litre petrol engine that sends a respectable 150bhp to the front wheels via either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. A more powerful 1.6-litre turbocharged hybrid is also available that boosts the power to almost 240bhp. The hybrid powertrain is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission and can also be specified with all-wheel drive if you want to upgrade from the standard front-wheel drive.
There are obviously a lot more details that will make the new Kia Sportage an even more enticing proposition, but we don’t know any of them yet.
Kia has confirmed that the new models are expected to arrive in the third quarter of 2025 so we’re still a few months away from the full launch. UK pricing and specifications will be announced closer to the time, so we’ll bring you the rest of the details when we get them and how to lease your new Kia Sportage.
