New full-hybrid Omoda 5 SHS-H added to the lineup
Published 9th February 2026
Compared to some manufacturer’s numbers, we’d be tempted to describe Omoda’s 23,500 new registrations over the last 18 months as relatively modest. That is until you remember this is a brand that didn’t even exist in the UK until August 2024. Zero to 23k+ cars in such a short space of time is actually quite impressive, and the introduction of the new Omoda 5 SHS-H, the first full-hybrid model to join the UK lineup, represents the next step for one of the UK’s fastest-growing automotive brands.
As it continues to broaden its electrified line-up, the new Omoda 5 SHS-H will offer a full-hybrid alternative alongside the existing Omoda 5 and all-electric E5.
The full-hybrid Omoda 5 builds on the growing success of the existing petrol and EV variants, adding another layer of efficiency to the bold, distinctive styling. It has an all-new front grille and bumper design, and refreshed alloy wheels for 2026. You can also choose from five different exterior colours, with a two-tone paint finish available on selected colour options.
The full-hybrid powertrain consists of a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, a double electric motor, and 1.83 kW battery, offering the benefits of both electric assistance and petrol power to reduce emissions without sacrificing long-distance driving capability. It delivers a total driving range of over 650 miles from its 51-litre petrol tank, as well as giving you around 220bhp to sprint to 62mph in just under 8 seconds. The hybrid system has been tuned to deliver the best balance between performance and efficiency, making it an ideal lease option for family life and the daily commute.
The new Omoda 5 SHS-H can be specified in two trim levels
The entry-level ‘Knight’ focuses on design, connectivity, and everyday usability, with features including 18-inch alloy wheels, full LED lighting, dual 12.3-inch digital displays, wireless smartphone connectivity, intelligent voice control, and a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance and safety systems.
Building on this foundation, the ‘Noble’ trim offers a more premium experience with its comfort and technology-focused specification, adding extra features such as a 540-degree surround-view camera, an 8-speaker Sony audio system, ambient interior lighting, and front seats that are both heated and ventilated.
And in terms of value, it won’t matter which one you choose. You’ll be starting from a sub-£30k list price in either case, so Omoda 5 lease rentals are likely to be considerably lower than the impressive specification would suggest.
If the new full-hybrid Omoda 5 sounds like your next car, you’re in luck. UK deliveries are expected to begin in March, so you could be driving one sooner than you think.
