New Toyota bZ4X Touring is the perfect electric SUV for family adventures
Published 5th June 2026
Toyota has expanded its electric SUV line-up with the arrival of the new bZ4X Touring, a larger and more versatile version of the popular bZ4X. Designed for families who want more room, more capability, and a bit more adventure in their weekends, the Touring brings Toyota’s off-road heritage into the electric era. And it does all of that with the kind of build quality and dependability the brand is known for.
Available in two trims, Design and Excel, the new Toyota bZ4X Touring goes on sale in June, with first customer deliveries expected from July.

Inside, the Touring offers the same clean, modern cabin design as the standard bZ4X, but with more space and a stronger focus on usability. The large touchscreen, intuitive controls, and high-quality materials make it a comfortable place to spend long journeys, while the power tailgate and roof rails add everyday practicality.
The Touring’s layout is designed to be simple, durable and easy to live with, making it ideal for families who need a car that can handle any combination of school runs, shopping trips, and weekend adventures without fuss.
Both versions come with a generous equipment list, but the Touring also focuses on practicality, delivering more space, more versatility, and a more rugged feel than the standard bZ4X.
The entry-level Design grade is front-wheel drive and boasts a generous specification that suits everyday family use.
It includes Toyota’s large 14.3-inch Smart Connect+ multimedia system, along with wireless smartphone charging, and heated front seats for added comfort. A power back door makes loading easier, while roof rails boost added practicality for bikes, boxes, or holiday gear. Grade variants also feature a Panoramic View Monitor, giving drivers a clear 360-degree perspective when manoeuvring in tight spaces.
Upgrading to the Excel transforms the bZ4X Touring into an even more capable and more luxurious SUV.
It adds all-wheel drive for improved traction and stability, supported by a more powerful 22kW onboard charger for faster AC charging. The Excel also gains 20-inch alloy wheels and a Skyview panoramic roof, while the cabin is upgraded with ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a digital rear-view mirror.
Safety and convenience take another step forward too, thanks to an extended Toyota Safety Sense package that includes Front Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, Advanced Parking Assist, and Downhill Assist Control. For music lovers, a JBL premium audio system is also available as an optional upgrade.
The new bZ4X Touring is being pitched as the EV for drivers who want more than just a smooth commute. Toyota is keen to emphasise that the bZ4X Touring isn’t just another electric SUV, it’s designed to feel secure and predictable on a variety of surfaces.
Go-anywhere appeal of the new bZ4X
The all-wheel drive system in the Excel grade is tuned for genuine off-road performance, giving the Touring a level of capability that many EV rivals simply don’t offer. Whether you’re heading to the coast, the campsite, or the countryside, the Touring is designed to feel stable, planted and reassuring. It’s built for families who enjoy outdoor lifestyles, road trips, and the occasional muddy track. Benefiting from Toyota’s long history with SUVs from the RAV4 to the Land Cruiser, the bZ4X Touring aims to bring that same confidence to a fully electric platform.
The new Toyota bZ4X Touring joins an expanding lineup of electrified models, allowing drivers the choice of leasing a ruggedly practical EV from a brand with decades of experience in electrification. With two well-equipped trims, genuine off-road capability, and a focus on family-friendly practicality, the Touring is a seriously tempting addition to that line-up.
For drivers who want an electric SUV that’s built for more than just the daily commute, the new Toyota bZ4X Touring should definitely be a Toyota lease option worth exploring.
