Journey to the stars in a Rolls-Royce

Journey to the stars in a Rolls-Royce

Published 29th October 2025

Before we start: No, you can’t have one. Not even from us at Gateway2Lease. And for once, it’s not just about the price either...although, for 99% of us it’s about the price as well. The reason you can’t have one isn’t as straightforward as "because a Rolls-Royce is hugely expensive". The actual reason you can’t have one is because that one you’re looking at in the pictures, that is the only one in existence. That is the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Cosmos.

“We wanted to create something our family would remember forever: a Rolls-Royce that captures the essence of the cosmos and shows that no dream is out of reach.”

Commissioning Client, Cullinan Cosmos.

The result of that desire is the Cullinan Cosmos: a truly one-of-one commission that celebrates the drama of outer space. Commissioned by a family who shares a fascination for the universe with their four-year-old son, Rolls-Royce has brought the theme to life through the finest attention to detail.

Cullinan Cosmos is finished in shimmering Arabescato Pearl, a finish chosen for its similarity to soft moonlight across a midnight sky. The exterior is completed with a hand-painted twin coachline in Charles Blue, and an Illuminated Spirit of Ecstasy that shines at the end of that stately bonnet like a distant star.

The interior offers a calm environment, inspired by the stillness and wonder of deep space.

The reclining seats are finished in the finest leather, the choice of blue and white – mainly Charles Blue (to match the exterior coachline) with touches of Grace White to complement the contrast stitching and piping – creating a light and airy feel. Piano White veneers add a crisp, technical touch that borrows from the high-gloss surfaces of satellites and spaceships. Even the Star Cluster motif, embroidered into the door panels and headrests, and as a hand-painted artwork on the front passenger fascia is completely unique, created by Rolls-Royce designers in close collaboration with the client.

And at the heart of this truly unique Cullinan Cosmos is a Rolls-Royce first.

Painstakingly developed over the course of 160 hours by one of the in-house artists, Cullinan Cosmos features the first fully hand-painted Starlight Headliner ever created for a Rolls-Royce motor car.

Painted entirely freehand, it’s an interpretation of that band of stars and cosmic mist in the night sky that makes up the Milky Way galaxy we call home - except this one is specifically colour-graded to complement the Bespoke interior palette, which the actual Milky Way galaxy isn’t.

The luminous cloud formations flowing across the headliner consist of more than 20 successive applications of acrylic paint; the mist effect is created by allowing the finest layer of pigments to dry delicately on contact; the field of painted ‘stars’ required a combination of fine, pointed brushes and a speckling technique to give the final composition its celestial quality.

And once the painting was completed and sealed, somebody then had the nerve-wracking job of making holes in it, each one individually punched and positioned by hand to ensure the fitting of the fibre optic lights perfectly complement the contours of the artwork.

So, no, you still can’t have one...but at least now you know why.

Unless, by the longest of long shots, you happen to be one of those ultra-wealthy types and you’ve somehow found yourself reading this during a quick break from yacht shopping. In which case, Rolls-Royce maintains a discreet number of international Private Offices created to bring the full capabilities of the Bespoke Collective closer to the brand’s most visionary clients.

Oh, and in case you were wondering....

Yes, Rolls-Royce completed and delivered the Cullinan Cosmos precisely on schedule.

No, we don’t know who the client was.

And yes, if you still need to ask, you still can’t afford it.
