Vehicle Leasing FAQs
Leasing a vehicle should be simple and stress-free. Whether you’re looking for a personal or a business contract hire agreement, we’ve put together answers to the questions we get asked most often.
You’ll find information about what happens before you lease, during your agreement, and at the end of your contract.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for, our friendly team is happy to help – just call 01299 407 360.
Before You Lease
All our vehicles are brand new and sourced directly through UK franchised dealerships or the manufacturer. This ensures you receive genuine UK-spec vehicles with full support and warranty.
Yes. You can usually choose the colour, trim level, and optional extras. These are subject to stock or factory lead times, so availability may vary.
Yes. Every vehicle includes the manufacturer’s full UK warranty. Warranty periods differ between brans, so ask our team for details on your chosen vehicle.
Your initial rental (sometimes called an initial payment) is the upfront payment at the start of your contract. It’s usually the equivalent of 3, 6 or 9 monthly rentals. A high initial rental means lower monthly payments.
Most contracts run for 2, 3, or 4 years. The term you choose will affect your monthly rentals and overall flexibility.
Your monthly rental covers the use of the vehicle for the agreed period and mileage, plus road tax (vehicle excise duty) for the duration of the contract.
During Your Lease
Your monthly rentals are collected via direct debit by the finance provider.
Maintenance isn’t automatically included but can be added for an extra monthly cost to your quotation. Our maintenance packages typically cover servicing, tyres, brakes, exhausts, batteries, and labour.
Yes. You’re responsible for ensuring the vehicle is serviced in line with the manufacturer’s schedule either at a dealership or VAT-registered garage using genuine parts. Make sure you check to see what is stipulated in your agreement.
Yes. Vehicle Excise Duty (road tax) is included for the full duration of your contract – you don’t need to renew it yourself. If the Government make changes to the vehicle tax rules, any increases will be passed onto you by the finance provider.
Yes. Every new lease includes manufacturer roadside assistance, which usually lasts for 12 months but could be longer depending on the brand.
No. You’ll need to arrange fully comprehensive insurance for the vehicle throughout the lease term.
If you expect to drive more or less than planned, contact us as early as possible. We may be able to request a mileage amendment on your behalf.
Yes – but you’ll need to request a VE103B certificate from your finance provider before taking the vehicle outside the UK. A small administration fee may apply. Also make sure your insurance covers driving abroad too.
End of Your Lease
When your agreement ends, you simply hand the vehicle back. It’ll be inspected to ensure it meets the BVRLA Fair Wear and Tear standards. Provided the vehicle is in good condition, there’s nothing else to pay unless you’ve exceeded your mileage allowance.
Your funder may offer you the option of a short extension if you must wait for your next vehicle to arrive. Contact us near the end of your term to discuss your options.
No – contract hire does not include an option to buy. Instead, you can take out a new agreement on another vehicle.
Minor wear is expected, but excessive damage may result in end-of-contract charges. You can view our Fair Wear and Tear Guide for more details.
No – but you’ll need to arrange collection with your finance provider. There’s no extra charge for collection.
