Jaecoo is officially the UK’s most googled Chinese car brand

If you’ve been bemused, befuddled, or bewildered by the growing number of Chinese car brands appearing on UK roads, you’re not alone. At least, not according to search engine Google. One brand in particular, Jaecoo, has just been named the most searched Chinese car brand in the UK, according to Google UK’s Year in Search 2025 – a signal perhaps, that the UK’s savviest drivers are demonstrating a rapidly growing awareness of the adventure-focused marque.

Google’s annual data highlights the models and automotive topics that gained the fastest momentum over the past year, with “Jaecoo cars” ranking third overall in the top 10 trending car searches for 2025.

That result places Jaecoo alongside long-established European and Korean nameplates and ahead of several legacy manufacturers. Not bad for a brand that launched in the UK less than 12 months ago.

The rise of Jaecoo in online searches points to increasing brand recognition for at least one half of the Omoda/Jaecoo family.

Jaecoo UK’s debut year has been defined by strong, consistent momentum. According to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Jaecoo achieved an astonishing 1.4% market share of the UK new car market in 2025, demonstrating how that growth in digital interest is beginning to translate into real-world recognition.

With more than 26,000 Jaecoo 7s now registered in the UK, and the latest addition to the model lineup, the Jaecoo 5 SUV, launching at the end of last year in both EV and ICE versions, Jaecoo expects the rapid growth in digital interest to play an increasingly important role across both personal leasing and fleet markets in 2026.

CEO of Jaecoo UK, Gary Lan confirmed as much: “Being recognised by Google as the most searched Chinese car brand in the UK is a significant milestone for Jaecoo. It shows that British consumers are actively seeking new brands that offer distinctive design, advanced technology and all-encompassing value. As awareness grows, our focus remains on building trust, educating customers and delivering products that resonate with the UK market.”
