Lexus unveils the TZ: a new all-electric six-seat SUV with serious business appeal

Lexus unveils the TZ: a new all-electric six-seat SUV with serious business appeal

Published 23rd June 2026

The all-new Lexus TZ, a fully electric, three-row SUV marks a major step forward for the brand’s premium EV ambitions. Due to arrive in Europe in 2027, the TZ is built around a simple idea: that electricity should make long-distance travel calmer, quieter, and more comfortable for everyone on board. For business users, fleet managers, and company-car drivers looking ahead to the next generation of premium electric SUVs, the new Lexus TZ is a model worth watching closely.

Welcome to the Driving Lounge

The TZ introduces what Lexus calls the “Driving Lounge” concept, and it’s clear the brand has put real thought into how an electric SUV should feel inside.

Refinement has always been a Lexus strength, and the TZ pushes this further. Lexus has worked hard to reduce wind and road noise, using thicker glass, new sound-insulating materials, and redesigned door mirrors to keep the cabin as quiet as possible. The chassis has been engineered at Lexus’s Shimoyama proving ground, and Dynamic Rear Steering is available to improve agility at low speeds and stability when cruising. For a vehicle more than five metres long, the turning circle is impressively tight, which should make urban driving and parking far less stressful.

The long wheelbase and under-floor battery layout create enough room for six full-size seats, including a genuinely usable third row with proper head and legroom. The cabin has been designed to feel open, quiet, and relaxing, helped by a panoramic roof that stretches across all three rows and a minimalist dashboard that hides its controls until your hand approaches. Heating and ventilation are available in all rows, and Lexus even offers ottoman-style leg rests for the front and second-row passengers.

It’s a space designed for long journeys, business travel, and family use in equal measure.

Inside, the TZ runs Lexus’s latest Arene software platform, which brings faster responses, improved navigation, and a more intuitive user experience.

A 14-inch central display works alongside a 12.3-inch driver’s screen, and the system supports cloud-based navigation, remote locking, climate control, over-the-air updates, and a new Smart Digital Key+ that works even if your phone battery is flat. For businesses managing multiple drivers, the ability to share the digital key with up to six people is a practical advantage.

New comfort drive mode for rear passengers

Underneath, the TZ uses a new 95.8kWh battery and dual-motor all-wheel drive system producing just over 400bhp. Lexus expects a range of up to 330 miles depending on specification, and DC charging from 10% to 80% should take around 35 minutes. The TZ also introduces a new Comfort drive mode that focuses on reducing body movement for rear passengers, which will appeal to chauffeur services, executive transport, and anyone sufficiently important to spend more time being driven than driving.

For the business-leasing market, the TZ arrives at an interesting moment.

Demand for premium electric SUVs continues to grow, and the new TZ offers a compelling mix of low BiK potential, long-distance comfort, strong brand appeal, and genuine six-seat flexibility. Lexus’s reputation for reliability and build quality should also support strong residual values, which is increasingly important as fleets look to manage whole-life costs more carefully.

Lexus will confirm UK specifications and timings closer to launch. With the European rollout planned for 2027, there’s still plenty of time to refine pricing and trim levels ahead of its arrival in the UK.

What’s clear already, despite not yet knowing all the details, is that the Lexus TZ will be a significant addition to the premium EV landscape, and one that will sit comfortably alongside rivals such as the Mercedes EQS SUV, BMW iX, and Volvo EX90.
